People that annoy me: top 3
1. Agyness Deyn: because she pops up everywhere, ALWAYS with that same droopy-eyed stare, which really annoys me. Plus: she has a very annoying name.
2. Lady Gaga: Okay, she’s pretty entertaining and all, but she seems to feel the need to be overly ‘FIERCE’ with every single thing she does (this annoys me). I can understand her wanting to be Madonna (who doesn’t?), but we already have a Madonna, and her name is Madonna. That super-low voice of hers also annoys me, and if I hear ‘Poker Face’ one more time, I will puke my brains out. Literally.
3. Kanye West, because, well…megalomaniacs just tend to have that effect on me.

How to get through the winter: stalk Rachel Zoe’s Taylor & Brad!
Since season 2 of the Rachel Zoe Project having ended (and way too soon I might add..), I’m feeling a bit of a gap in my weekly schedule. Luckily, I found out about Taylor’s and Brad’s Twitter! Hurrah! Now I don’t actually have to start reading books to keep myself busy at night.

The waiting is O-V-E-R!!!…….
Tonight the fifth and final (NOOO!!!) season of The Hills finally starts! (which actually means I’ll be watching it on MTV online TOMORROW night, due to the time difference) As we can tell from the preview, Lauren and Heidi make up (or do they?..) and Spencer beats up Stephanie’s boyfriend!… And: why do Lauren and Lo move out of their house?

Wij willen allemaaaal Tarkan!!
‘I’ [naam op verzoek verwijderd], zo konden we onlangs in de Grazia lezen, was psychologiestudente (HA!) en stekkerdozen in elkaar-zetter toen ze, aangestoken door haar Turkse collega’s, plotsklaps tot over haar oren verliefd werd op Tarkan en daarop besloot hem maar te gaan stalken. Openingszinnen van het artikel: “Ik ben er nog niet helemaal klaar voor om de brieven terug te lezen, die ik naar Tarkan en de mensen om hem heen schreef. Het is vooral de drammerige en sexueel expliciete toon erin die me afschrikt.”
Als we even googlen naar I, gaat een wereld van heerlijke belachelijkheid voor ons open. Zo vinden we op een of andere site over evolutie, waar racistische theorieën worden verdedigd danwel bekritiseerd (ik heb eigenlijk geen flauw idee):
“Uit de lange brief valt op te maken dat I de zanger Tarkan gestalkt heeft en dat ze daarover een artikel wilde schrijven. Ook schrijft de fan dat I gelooft dat Tarkan homosexueel is. I zegt twee redenen te hebben waarom ze dat denkt: 1. omdat hij (Tarkan) weigerde met I te slapen toen ze hem stalkte. 2. Omdat zijzelf steeds verliefd wordt op homosexuele mannen.” Van alle dingen die ik niet begrijp in deze alinea, ben ik nog wel het meest geshockeerd door de insinuatie dat Tarkan homo zou zijn!…
Ook is er nog een vete ontstaan tussen I en een bloedserieuze Tarkan-blogger (wederom, geen idee waar het allemaal over gaat), én kunnen we in een fan-clip zien hoe I in de duinen staat te dansen (0:46), en uit een groene auto stapt; vervolgens een appel eet (1:59).
Ben je niet blij dat je dit nu allemaal weet?

Interviewing the Cobrasnake
For the superawesome ‘secret‘ book project on fashion blogs (lead by Kirstin Hanssen) I’m working on, K. and I ended up interviewing Mark ‘The Cobrasnake‘ Hunter during his stay in Amsterdam. Mark and Steve Aoki were kind enough to take a picture with us!

So Mariah Carey ISN’T a math-genius?…
Sense About Science, a charity focusing on the misrepresentation of science in society, pointed out that Mariah Carey misinterpreted the 2 in E=MC2 in her 2008 album title. While Mariah claimed the title represents “emancipation equals Mariah Carey times two”, mathematician Dr. David Leslie states: “The ‘two’ in the equation means C squared, not MC multiplied by two. The correct reading of the equation is E=MCC, so perhaps Mariah’s re-interpretation should have been ‘emancipation equals Mariah Carey Carey’?”
Well, let me just say how happy I am that they detected this grave error before Mariah could do any real damage.
