New Yorker Leandra Medine is one of the funniest and smartest fashion bloggers currently out there. Her blog The Man Repeller is about (as she puts it):
Outfitting oneself in a sartorially offensive way that will result in repelling members of the opposite sex. Such garments include but are not limited to harem pants, boyfriend jeans, overalls (see: human repelling), shoulder pads, full length jumpsuits, jewelry that resembles violent weaponry and clogs.’
And may I just add that I am clearly clueless on what repels men? Clogs and shoulder pads UNattractive? I mean..

PS: Even the Copyright Infringement notice on the bottom of her blog is funny as hayl (but also a little bit intimidating so I politely added photo creds!):
DON’T STEAL MY BRAIN JUICE WITHOUT CREDITING ME, I OWN THIS SHIT. UNLESS YOU WANT ME TO SUE YOU. IN WHICH CASE, THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR FACILITATING MY OWNERSHIP OVER THE ENTIRE PROENZA SCHOULER S/S 2010 COLLECTION. I’M STILL NOT OVER IT.
PPS: Leandra was also featured on The Coveteur last month!
Upon inspecting my outfit, my boyfriend recently informed me that I resembled a Golden Girl. Now, I’m not sure whether he actually meant that as a compliment, but I just went ahead and took it as one. We already established the awesomeness of The Golden Girls anyway.
Gold accessories AND backcombed hairdo’s AND shoulder pads? I THINK SO!! Enjoy.
In related news: Eyeworks is working on a Dutch remake of The Golden Girls. UGH..
The March fashion issue of Vice Magazine featured two articles on cah-razy Mexican fashions: botas vaqueras exóticas (apparently, they even dance in these babies)and ‘Cholombian’ hairstyles. I wonder if Tim Gunn would approve?
these cats put Tuco’s cousins to shame.
hawt stuff.
Check out the amazing new blog The Coveted (not to be confused with Jennine Jacob’s The-Coveted), which lets us sneak a peek inside fashion industry insiders’ closets. Yay!
