As we all know (…), Lauren Conrad has decided that season 5 of the Hills will be her last. Luckily, we won’t have to go without our weekly LC-fix for very long, as the reality star’s debut novel is due to be released this June! According to Lauren, ‘L.A. Candy’, the first of a three-book series of young adult fiction, will “tell a behind-the scenes story of a young girl who moves to L.A. and unexpectedly becomes the star of a reality television show. The books will be loosely inspired by my own experience and are definitely influenced by my own life. Some of the characters may symbolize people in my life, but it is in no way calling anyone out.”
I know what I’ll be reading this summer… Check out TeenVogue for an excerpt!
Tonight the fifth and final (NOOO!!!) season of The Hills finally starts! (which actually means I’ll be watching it on MTV online TOMORROW night, due to the time difference) As we can tell from the preview, Lauren and Heidi make up (or do they?..) and Spencer beats up Stephanie’s boyfriend!… And: why do Lauren and Lo move out of their house?
Watch the (once again) super-dramatic trailer here.
With The Hills’ fourth season having come to a close last week, there was somewhat of a void in the tv-schedule. Well, just leave it up to the good people of MTV to create shows from thin air! Beside Whitney Port, now Hills-eyecandy Brody Jenner also got his very own show, winged by Frankie Delgado and some guy called Sleazy T. Not unlike Paris Hilton in her show, Brody&co. are trying to test the limits of brohood and find themselves a new BBF (Best Bro Forever).
The funniest part was when, in the first episode, token gay guy Michael (last name Flatley. no really) realized living with eight straight guys wasn’t worth trying to get on The Hills and voluntarily left the show. If only he could have hung in there for two more episodes, he may have gotten the chance to share eyebrow makeup with Lauren afterall..
Love the theatrics of Lauren’s makeup running down her face.
So thankfully, the new season has started on MTV, still shitty that that means only one episode a week, as I really prefer watching them marathon-style (which has left me turning to old seasons of Laguna Beach to fill in the gaps -remember when back in the day it was Lauren vs. Kristin instead of Lauren vs. Heidi? oh how much it has all changed..). And I’m also dying (’literally’) to see the Whitney Spin-off!!
Bonus: Heidi&Spencer, ridiculous as ever (god bless ‘em).
